Note: If your system is running Windows
ME, 2000, or XP then it is not necessary to install this software.
Simply plug in the hardware and the necessary driver files will be installed
by Windows ME, 2000, or XP. |

Windows 98 Users:
Instructions for Simmtronics PnP 1.1 Drive |
|
- Download the file "simmusb_win98.zip",
unzip the same.
- Decompress the "simmusb_win98.exe" file by double clicking
on it. Extract it to a location of your choice.Be sure to note the
location where the files are extracted. The default location is c:\windows\temp
- Connect the USB PnP Drive to your computer's USB port.
- The "Add New Hardware Wizard" will appear. Click 'Next'
to begin.
- Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)"
and click 'Next'.
- Select "Specify a Location" and enter the location from
step 2 (e.g. c:\windows\temp) and click 'Next'.
- Windows should display a message that it is ready to install the
best driver for the device. Click 'Next'.
- Click 'Finish' to complete the driver installation.
- To access the drive, double click on the "My Computer"
icon on your desktop. A new drive letter is createdfor the drive.
Transferring files is a simple drag and drop operation.

- Download the file "Simm_MicroFlash2.0",
unzip the same.
- Before plugging in the Simmtronics USB PnP drive,
run the Setup in simmtronics'98 folder.
- If the system has old driver it will ask to "Remove" press
ok to uninstall old driver if any.
- After uninstalling run set up again to install new drivers.
- After the setup gets completed, it will ask to restart your computer.
- Restart the computer and Plug in the drive.
- The windows will search for the new hardware and ask you for the
driver
- Select the option "Search for best driver Automatically"
and click next.
- It will search the driver and install the drive and you will see
a next Drive letter Available.
- Click "My Computers" ICON on the Desktop, and the drive
can be accessed in the form of "removable Hard disk".

- Download the file Simmtronics
Microflash, unzip the same.
- Before plugging in the USB Simmtronics USB PnP drive, run the Setup
in simmtronics'98 folder.
- If the system has old driver it will ask to "Remove".
Press ok to uninstall old driver if any.
- After uninstalling run setup again to install new drivers.
- After the setup complete, the computer will ask to restart your
computer.
- Restart the computer and then Plug in the drive.
- The windows will search for the new hardware and ask for the driver

- It will search the driver and install the drive and form a next
Drive letter Available.
- Click "My Computers" ICON on the Desktop, and the drive

| Using Password Protection Application |

- The drive is pre installed with the password protection software.
- Double click on the icon in the new drive to start application.
- Follow instructions to make it password protected.
